DeviceNet specifies a fieldbus-level network, which provides connections between simple industrial devices (sensors, actuators) and higher-level devices (controllers).
DeviceNet has two primary purposes:
Transport of control-oriented information associated with low-level devices;
Transport of other information, which is indirectly related to the system being controlled, such as configuration parameters.
DeviceNet is based on the CIP protocol, which is common for Ethernet/IP, ControlNet and DeviceNet.
AMCI offers encoders, limit switches and other products with DeviceNet connectivity.
