Network Ready NEXUS Programmable Limit Switch Controllers

FEATURES:

  • High speed PLS controller
  • Two versions available: resolver & incremental encoder
  • Choose ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet IP, Modbus TCP/IP, or Profibus
  • The resolver version is 100% compatible with all AMCI brushless resolver transducers

DESCRIPTION

AMCI Model: NEXUS #NX3A1_
AMCI Model: NEXUS #NX3M1_

The AMCI NEXUS PLS Controller integrates high-speed programmable limit switch functions with a direct network connection. These units operate independently from, yet communicate data and status to, the main system controller. Program files are downloaded for all output setpoint functions while operational data is available over the network. Typical applications are packaging machine controls, high-speed assembly, and food and beverage machine applications.

The NX3A1_ uses a single resolver transducer as the position sensor while the NX3M1_ uses an incremental encoder.

Both units have two modes of operation, Independent Mode and Group Mode, both of which feature speed compensation (Auto Advance). Configured using the Independent Mode, each output is independent of the others and has a corresponding input that is ANDed with the output.

Configured using the Group Mode, the outputs are combined into one of six groups. Each group is assigned an Operating Mode that condition how the outputs fire. This configuration replaces the ladder logic that you would typically have to write for such packaging functions as glue gun control or material sensing. In either mode, the programmable limit switch outputs are updated every 100microseconds.

Notes:
1. The +24Vdc pin (pin 9) is directly connected to the +24Vdc pin on the Power Connector.

2. If your encoder operates from a 5Vdc supply, and draws less than 350mA, than it can be powered directly from pin 1 of the NX3M1X’s connector.
